Social Media Optimization Brent
Social Media Optimization (SMO)
Social Media Optimization is more than just being social on the web. We have found that many companies intend to use social media as tool to engage their customers, but in reality just post for the sake of posting. Without a true strategy, founded in deep research of trends, engagement activities, and editorial planning, most companies are just wasting time and money with social media.
We believe that social media optimization is about positioning. Saying and doing the right things in front of the right people at the right time and right place. This isn’t easy, therefor we have created a methodological process to achieve optimization.
At Search Engine Studio, we see social media optimization as a five-step process.
Activation is the aggregation of interested people, customers and other contacts, followers, affiliates and friends.
Engagement is the delivering of compelling content to followers in the way in which they wish to be reached.
Social Listening is an ongoing and evolving process which serves to provide deep insight about the customer and to shape the dialog in which customers and other interested parties wish to participate.
Re-engagement is the process of delivering compelling content that is more closely focused upon the specific and stated mindset of the customer base. Ideally, reengagement gives follower what they want, while delivering and driving a specific Call To Action.
Reporting is the process of analyzing and articulating the results of data both to the client and to the social media team for more increasingly refined reengagement messaging.
